My Approach

My sincere wish is that you uncover, in yourself, trust, empowerment, joy and the immense pleasure of being alive in our work together.

Safety

My main priority in our work together is that you feel seen, safe and comfortable. I do my best to create a collaborative, welcoming and safe space where you can practice being your true self. I am committed to only working with what is ready to shift, and do so by deeply listening to you and your body, letting go of expectations for our session and being fully present with you as you are without judgement.

Ease

"No pain, no gain" is an outdated and ineffective model for healing that can do more harm than good. Healing through ease and pleasure is not only possible, it is more effective and allows for lasting change. Oscillating between feeling comfortable and "comfortably uncomfortable" is where true integration and deep healing happens. Through this way of working we slowly expand your ability to be in the present moment with whatever sensations, emotions, thoughts you are experiencing so that you can be with them rather than be overcome by them. This way of working is gentle and profound. Meeting you exactly where you're at and honoring your body's unique way of being by letting go of what is no longer serving you only when that feels safe and beneficial.

Empowerment

Presence, wholeness and aliveness are always within us and therefore always available to us. My role as your practitioner is to reflect your innate wholeness back to you so that you can connect with these powerful parts of yourself. To me this is true healing; to be connected to one's whole self. From this connection, empowerment grows and so many more possibilities for ease and enjoyment unfold. The more you can sense into your own capacity to relax, receive support, and be with the present moment the more resilient you will become when facing life's challenges.

Mind-Body

As a Somatic Practitioner, I use a "bottom up approach" which means that my focus is on the body and how the state of our body influences our perspectives, thoughts, emotions, etc. How regulated our nervous system is can show up in how we express ourselves verbally, emotionally and physically, as well as how present we are and for how long. Therefore, when I assess where a client's system is at I am noticing what language they use, the story their posture and gestures tell, how their eyes move and more!
