What Codependency Looks Like:
Loneliness, fatigue, stress, dissociation. If you are someone prone to people pleasing, these may be some symptoms you are experiencing that you didn't even know were connected to codependent behavior. It can feel extremely confusing and stressful when you are constantly trying to figure out how to twist and shape yourself so other people feel comfortable. Especially when behind all this, is a fear of abandonment so strong, you would rather sacrifice yourself in order to maintain your connections to others.
As a sensitive or empath, codependent tendencies can be even more disorienting because you can feel what others are feeling and confuse them for your own. The worst part is after all the stress of trying to please others, you won't always get it right. The moments when someone gets upset because you did or said something they didn't like, can feel like the world is closing in around you, and you don't even know why. When feelings of shame and overwhelm take over, it's easy to conclude that something is wrong with you. Thankfully, even if it's just an inkling of a whisper, part of you knows deep down that living for the comfort of others isn't the way to have a fulfilling and joyful life.
What freedom from codependency looks like:
When you shift your attention to yourself and learn the language of your own feelings and sensations:

Someone can be upset and you don't immediately feel guilty or panicked

Boundaries feel possible (even if still uncomfortable)

What to Expect:
The information provided in this class will draw from polyvagel theory, Organic Intelligence® , mindfulness, Transformational Energy Healing, non-violent communication, grounded spirituality, meditation, all my years of clinical practice and education, as well as my own experience healing from codependency, following a spiritual path and more.
First and foremost this class is for you. With that in mind, there will be no fixed lesson plan for our time together. There will be structure and inspiring, thoughtful content, but it’s more like a choose your own adventure book. Your curiosity and questions will shape what we explore more deeply.
I will share what codependency is, how to spot your own patterns and what goes into healing them. This will help broaden your self-awareness, so you can discover where you are at in your healing journey with codependence and what you would like to learn more about.
There are several aspects of codependency and recovery that we can explore. We will focus on the topics that peak everyone's interest the most and/or depending on what feel's most appropriate for the level of the group. I will be ready to dive into these topics further with guided meditations and exercises to embody what is being taught.
I will be providing personal guidance for those who wish to share and are seeking specific support. Hearing each other’s stories and sharing your own can help you understand that you are not alone in your suffering. It can also help you spot your own patterns, as you empathize and connect with other people's stories.
